Solarities: Elemental Encounters and Refractions (coming soon)

From Cymene Howe:

Solarities: Being in the Time of Sun

“Solar radiates. In this edited collection, Jeff Diamanti, Amelia Moore and I offer that a different set of questions are possible when the material specificities of solarity become the compass for thought. It prompts us to ask about our relationship to the sun. Can we continue to persist on a planet that is so intimately bound up in a state of love, fear, and dependence on the primary source of all living energy? What can we learn if we no longer take the sun for granted?

How does solarity materialize in the bodies and lives of humans and non-humans now and in the future? In this collection, we explore how heliocentric discourses appear to be returning after nearly two centuries of fossil fueled modernity. We treat solar radiation as an interpretive lens that can take multiple forms across embodied scenes of encounter.” (from https://www.cymene.xyz/solarities)
